Stainless Register Pins
Ternes Burton™ metal register pins are made with precision machined buttons spot welded to a stainless steel base. They are commonly used to align layers of paper while printmaking using linoleum or wood blocks. Registration pins enable tight registration on complicated multi color projects. Examples of completed projects which have been sent to me are displayed throughout my website. Ternes register pins work with either my stripping tabs, or can be inserted directly through the holes made by a punch. The stainless register pin bases are .013" thick, the sturdiest and longest lasting available. Each register pin is welded multiple times and is meant for long term repeated use. Both the top of the button and the bottom of the bases are hand polished to prevent any scratching of your work. The diameter and height of the button is hand stenciled onto the base for identification and re-ordering. The pins are made and finished one at a time and all of this hand work takes a lot of extra time, but I feel the final product is worth the extra time and cost. My trademarked base shape is unique to my company and is designed with a narrow forward area to hold the button centered to prevent tilt, while the wide base has a hole in it so that as you tape the pin down you have adhesion on either side as well as the center. This helps prevent movement. The most common register pin I sell is the 1/4" x .085" R which has a round button which is 1/4" (6.35mm) diameter, with the button height being .085" (2.16mm) high. Assembly PINS
Ternes Burton™ Assembly Pins are small based pins machined from solid aluminum. Base size is 1/2" diameter. Round assembly pins are $1.00 each and the elongated pins are $1.40 each. Plastic register pins are not much more money than an assembly pin and have a base to tape down.
